The diversity of clay allows Kathy Thompson to mold tiles into unique shapes to create art that is pleasing, touchable and often functional. She cuts and forms clay into kiln-fired tiles, then creates mosaics which range from abstract to realistic, inspired by the majestic firs surrounding her Chehalem Mountain studio.
