The story
Founded in 2002 by Eric Hamacher, Luisa Ponzi, and Ned and Kristen Lumpkin, The Carlton Winemakers Studio is the Northwest’s first alternating proprietorship and first winery built to LEED-certification standards. As an elite facility, The Studio offers top-notch equipment and staff, allowing artisans to craft premium wines in the Willamette Valley. Visit our tasting room to experience these unique wines and their stories. Large groups welcome with advance notice.

$30 per personOur daily experience! With 12+ vintners under one roof, the Studio is filled with energy and diversity. Taste through a hand-selected flight of our favorite whites, rosés, Pinot Noirs, and bold reds.
Off the Beaten Path
$45 per personDiscover the unusual, rare, and small batch selection the Studio has to offer. Your menu could include any of the following, but is not limited to, Gamay Noir, Gruner Veltliner, white/red Rhone blends, Riesling, whole cluster Pinot Noir, and too many others to name.
Cellar Selections Experience
$60 per personIn this guided tasting we will feature exclusively the best of our best offerings that aren’t always poured or opened. We will spare no expense and offer ultra-boutique producers, highly-rated wines, limited library offerings, Traditional Champagne Method Sparkling, and many more possibilities.
Customizable Tasting Experience
Pricing Varies Depending on Wine SelectionLet us customize your tasting experience to best match your groups tasting preferences and with the release of 125 different wines each year, the possibilities are endless! From ultra small batch white wines, to high end Chardonnays, bold reds, and single vineyard Pinot Noirs.
Rotating Wine Flight
$30A rotating flight featuring a variety of white wines, rosés, Pinot Noirs, and bolder reds from the winemakers at The Studio. Non-alcoholic options are also available for purchase.
Daily Rotating Wine Flight
$30Enjoy a daily rotating flight of wines crafted by the various vintners at The Carlton Winemakers Studio.
Daily Wine Tasting Flight
Sip and enjoy curated flights of craft Willamette Valley wines from the Studio's featured vintners. No reservations are needed.

Good to know
- Can I Bring My Dog?
- Yes! You and your sweet puppers are welcomed in our patio area year round. While we aren’t able to welcome your pet indoors, we highly encourage sharing photos when you visit our Tasting Room!
- Are Kids Allowed?
- Yes! All humans of any range are welcome at The Studio. And, our three-season patio area is a great spot for them (and you!) to feel comfortable and explore.
- Can I Bring Food?
- Yes! The Studio offers small charcuterie and cheese items for sale to augment your tasting experience, but please feel free to bring your own. We recommend Carlton Bakery just up the road for a regional selection of sandwiches, charcuterie, cheeses, sweets, spreads, and more.
- Are Large Groups Allowed?
- Yes! We welcome groups of all sizes. Please call ahead at 503.852.6100 for groups larger than 6 so we can have tables ready to better serve your group.
- Can I Walk In Without A Reservation?
- Absolutely! We’re delighted to serve your group and can tailor your experience to your unique tastes. We’ll see you at The Studio!
- Are reservations required to visit the tasting room?
- No, reservations are not required to visit The Carlton Winemakers Studio.
